Zoeva was founded by Zoe Boikou. Born in Greece, Zoe Boikou moved to Germany with her family at a young age to seek a better life. Having little means but great resourcefulness, she soon evolved from selling a handful of brushes on eBay to 300-plus signature makeup formulas, palettes and tools sold around the world. 

Zoeva has been a brand for me that has been a bit under the radar - I know the name, but couldn't really remember any of their product launches. When I saw Zoeva on tkmaxx website I knew that this was my chance to try out the brand. I picked up 4 palettes and 3 highlighter duos. This is a review for the Caramel Melange range.

Zoeva Caramel Melange Eyeshadow Palette - RRP £21

The ZOEVA Caramel Melange Eyeshadow Palette offers a selection of delicious shades – from soft, tawny butterscotch hues to caramelized, golden crème brulée nuances and warm toffee tones, spiced up by a sprinkle of bronzed cinnamon.

I had extremely high hopes for this palette and using it the first time I have to admit I was disappointed, I couldn't believe how this type of formula was even out there, but as I used it more I fell in love. I have never tried this type of formula before so let me explain.

Formula: The formula is beginner friendly as it super blendable and even the darker shades can be blended out to a sheer wash of colour. The shadows won't crumble or have a lot of fall out making quick makeup easy even if you are doing a smoky eye. The shimmer shades give a subtle satin look and do not give pop or oomph to the eyes, rather a smooth softness. Why I had doubts at first was because some of the lighter shades need an eye primer to really to show up. 

COLOURS:

The colour go well together and overall I love this palette. The two top right caramel shades seem to be extremely similar but otherwise, the palette caters a lot of different shades. My favourite shades are the mattes, as I'm not a too big fan of satin shades overall.

Who is this for? 

For someone who loves daily neutral tones and a warm smoky-eye. The shadows blend so well together that it creates an illusion of bigger eyes and instantly gives a look that is impactful. The colours blend together so well that creating more defined looks can be difficult - I find that the colours are the best for a smooth, blended neutral smoky eye.

Overall would I recommend these palettes? If you are looking for sophisticated makeup with easy to blend and sheer out shadows and lit within highlighters, then yes this is amazing pair of products that make makeup easy and neutral smoky eyes a piece of cake for anyone.
