Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette and Highlighter Duo

By Glow Up Beauty Blog - December 30, 2020

As tempting as a box of pralinés, the indulgent ZOEVA Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette offers a choice of warm truffle tones with notes of delicate nougat hues and shimmery marzipan shades, bathed in rich and full of depth chocolate. Resulting out of a world of sweet sins, the silky textures unravel on the lids like lush, melted ganache and deliver an unparalleled delight for the senses – for ultra-seductive glamour makeups. - Zoeva website

This chocolate-inspired eyeshadow palette is an elevated version of your normal kich-like seasonal palettes that smell of chocolate. Maybe that is why this has really become one of my favourites from Zoeva. The hues are versatile, but the core of the palette is the matte brown basics that so many of us wear every day.

Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Formula:

The formula is classic Zoeva formula, non-crumbly, a bit stiffer but super blendable and very premium quality mattes and sheen eyeshadows. You can create amazing diffused eyeshadow looks with this palette that is effortless and looks professional. There are few not-so-great shades such as Bitter Start that is creamy light beige, that unfortunately doesn't really show up. Also, the delicate acidity to me seems a bit muddy. The palette also has two dark black shades one with a hint of shimmer and one matte - I don't really see how you would really use both as they look almost identical.

The rest of the palette is so gorgeous that I totally forget the few mishaps and use the brown mattes all the time. The eyeshadow palette is made in Italy.

Cocoa Blend Highlighter Formula:

The Cocoa Blend highlighter formula is something I would call premium classical formula - meaning it gives the skin lovely glow that is smooth and doesn't emphasize texture, but it won't give you that super pop highlighted cheek and I like that. I prefer highlighters that are more subtle.

The Cocoa Blend highlighter has two colours - The Dessert a creamy champagne highlighter and The Mastery of Chocolate a neutral-toned pink highlighted. This is my go-to highlighter palette at the moment, the champagne highlighter colour is so beautiful and sometimes I use the other colour as a blush.

The highlighter palette is made in Germany.

Overall Cocoa Blend eyeshadow palette is one of my favourites 2020, while it has downsides you can never go wrong with good brown mattes with some gorgeous sheen shimmers.

Zoeva Caramel Melange Eyeshadow Palette & Highlighter

By Glow Up Beauty Blog - October 21, 2020

Zoeva was founded by Zoe Boikou. Born in Greece, Zoe Boikou moved to Germany with her family at a young age to seek a better life. Having little means but great resourcefulness, she soon evolved from selling a handful of brushes on eBay to 300-plus signature makeup formulas, palettes and tools sold around the world.

Zoeva has been a brand for me that has been a bit under the radar - I know the name, but couldn't really remember any of their product launches. When I saw Zoeva on tkmaxx website I knew that this was my chance to try out the brand. I picked up 4 palettes and 3 highlighter duos. This is a review for the Caramel Melange range.

Zoeva Caramel Melange Eyeshadow Palette - RRP £21

The ZOEVA Caramel Melange Eyeshadow Palette offers a selection of delicious shades – from soft, tawny butterscotch hues to caramelized, golden crème brulée nuances and warm toffee tones, spiced up by a sprinkle of bronzed cinnamon.

I had extremely high hopes for this palette and using it the first time I have to admit I was disappointed, I couldn't believe how this type of formula was even out there, but as I used it more I fell in love. I have never tried this type of formula before so let me explain.

Formula: The formula is beginner friendly as it super blendable and even the darker shades can be blended out to a sheer wash of colour. The shadows won't crumble or have a lot of fall out making quick makeup easy even if you are doing a smoky eye. The shimmer shades give a subtle satin look and do not give pop or oomph to the eyes, rather a smooth softness. Why I had doubts at first was because some of the lighter shades need an eye primer to really to show up.

COLOURS:

The colour go well together and overall I love this palette. The two top right caramel shades seem to be extremely similar but otherwise, the palette caters a lot of different shades. My favourite shades are the mattes, as I'm not a too big fan of satin shades overall.

Who is this for?

For someone who loves daily neutral tones and a warm smoky-eye. The shadows blend so well together that it creates an illusion of bigger eyes and instantly gives a look that is impactful. The colours blend together so well that creating more defined looks can be difficult - I find that the colours are the best for a smooth, blended neutral smoky eye.

Velvety-smooth and rich in pigments, the Caramel Melange Highlighter Palette is an unmissable illuminating palette. - Beauty Bay website

Everything Is Coated – Shimmering butterscotch cream.
Tasting Experience – Shimmering golden honey bronze.

Formula

The highlighter formula is super smooth, lit within type of formula that doesn't accentuate dry patches on skin. It is not blinding highlight, but it gives the skin lovely sheen.

Colours

You get two highlighter colours, creamy light pink highlighter and honey bronze highlighter. To colours are gorgeous and the pink cream shade shows so nicely on my pale skin tone.

Overall would I recommend these palettes? If you are looking for sophisticated makeup with easy to blend and sheer out shadows and lit within highlighters, then yes this is amazing pair of products that make makeup easy and neutral smoky eyes a piece of cake for anyone.
